Janice Izlar

Board of Directors

Janice Izlar joined the QUAD A Board of Directors in 2014 and serves as the Standards Committee Chair. In that capacity, she oversees the review of accreditation standards, clarifying misinterpretations and updating standards to ensure the best patient safety care possible. 

Janice also serves as a member of the Investigative Committee and is the QUAD A Education Foundation Vice-President. 

A nurse anesthetist, Janice saw the value of effective care accreditation when working at a facility accredited by QUAD A. 

“Every patient deserves high-quality care during the most vulnerable time of receiving a surgical procedure, said Janice. QUAD A promotes and assists facilities in achieving safe, effective care through our consultive approach to accreditation.”

Janice holds a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice and a Master of Science in Nursing. 

She is also a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (FAANA), past President of the Georgia Board of Nursing, and past President of AANA. 

In 2023 she received the AANA Agatha Hodgins Award and in 2006 she received the  Georgia Association of Nurse Anesthetists Roselie McDonald Award in 2006. She also earned the Distinguished Alumni Award at Columbia School of Nursing in 2012 and was named the Federal Political Director of the Year by AANA in 2003. 

Janice is married to her husband, Charles, of 36 years, and they have one grown son. Her hobbies and interests include reading, cooking, circuit training, Pilates, Mah Jongg, and playing with her dog, Giverny.
