These updates take precedence over previous standards, guidance in past newsletters and individual responses to standards-related questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stay Current, Stay Compliant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These technical corrections clarify, revise, or eliminate previous requirements, keeping our standards aligned with current best practices and operational realities. Whether your facility is in the process of becoming accredited or maintaining existing accreditation, <strong>reviewing and implementing these updates is vital to remain in compliance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Highlights of the Changes Include:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Anesthesia Administration Clarified:<\/strong> Class A sedation may now be administered by a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant under the<strong> direct supervision of a credentialed physician<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>TIVA Guidance Updated:<\/strong> Facilities using <strong>Total Intravenous Anesthesia (TIVA)<\/strong> with no inhalation anesthetics are <strong>not required to have an anesthesia machine<\/strong> (see Standard 4-C-18).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Standard Exemptions for Class A Facilities:<\/strong> Several standards <strong>do not apply<\/strong> to Class A facilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Credentialing Timelines Extended:<\/strong> Primary source verification and re-credentialing are now extended to <strong>every three years<\/strong> instead of every two years (Standards 11-C-11 and 11-C-17).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sample Size for Case Review Set:<\/strong> For Standard 10-B-6, the <strong>minimum quarterly review<\/strong> is now defined as <strong>10% of your average monthly case volume<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>International Clarification Added:<\/strong> A note to Standard 7-C-4 states that <strong>FDA reprocessing rules do not apply to international facilities<\/strong>\u2014International facilities must comply with their local, provincial, or federal requirements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Specific Updates for RHC and OPT Facilities:<\/strong> Certain standards have been excluded or revised for applicability to <strong>Cliniques de sant\u00e9 rurales<\/strong> and <strong>Physioth\u00e9rapie ambulatoire<\/strong> facilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Additional updates <\/strong>for clarity and consistency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Click below to review all changes in the full Technical Corrections document.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/dev8.quada.org\/accreditation-standards\">View Details<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t let outdated information put your accreditation at risk.
