New Standards - COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements
Implementation date: March 7, 2022
This is a follow-up to the announcement from November 10, 2021, “CMS Announces New Regulations Regarding Vaccination Status in Healthcare Settings” and the announcement from January 14, 2022, “New & Revised Standards – COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements & Director Role Clarification”.
Per Medicare (CMS) mandate, Quad A has created new standards which will apply to Medicare-deemed ASCs, OPTs, and RHCs as accredited by QUAD A. The new standards can be read here, and are broken down by program on the QUAD A website: CMS ASC, CMS OPT, and CMS RHC.
According to the January 20, 2022, Supreme Court Ruling, these standards will apply in all US states, all US territories, and Washington DC. Timelines for compliance have been updated to include all 50 States.
These documents have been approved by federal regulators and will go into effect for surveys occurring on March 7, 2022, and beyond.
Please review CMS’s QSO memo and attachments published December 28, 2021, January 14, 2022, and January 20, 2022, for additional information.
