Alert #2024-002

At QUAD A, we are dedicated to empowering our accredited facilities with essential knowledge and reinforcing the utmost safety for their patients. As part of our commitment, we are sharing critical information from the CDC below.

On October 12, 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a Health Alert Network (HAN) Health Advisory. The purpose of the alert is to inform healthcare providers and facilities of a supply disruption of peritoneal dialysis (PD) and intravenous (IV) solutions from Baxter International's North Cove facility in North Carolina due to Hurricane Helene.

The CDC urges healthcare providers and facilities to assess their supplies, develop conservation strategies, and implement emergency treatment protocols to mitigate the impact on patient care. The CDC also recommends that state and local health departments remain aware of the severity of the supply disruption and facilitate communication between health systems to address acute needs.
